Our Lady of Remedies Festivities 2026

The municipality of Buenavista del Norte celebrates its traditional Fiestas de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios 2026, an event featuring an extensive programme of religious, sporting, cultural, and leisure activities for the whole family. For eleven days, residents and visitors can enjoy this festival, with free access to all activities, in an atmosphere of tradition and celebration in northwest Tenerife.

Friday 16 October

• 11:00 School Cross Country Race at Campo de Fútbol Los Cabildos
• 16:30 Celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation (confessions) at Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios
• 20:00 Opening speech for the festivities by Alejandrina Poleo Fortes, presented by Cándido López. Followed by a concert by Los Vándalos on the Main Stage

Saturday 17 October

• 10:00 Children's activities with bouncy castles, workshops, and face painting in Calle La Alhóndiga
• 11:00 Football match between veteran teams of C.D. Buenavista and U.D. Icodense at Campo de Fútbol Los Cabildos
• 19:00 Eucharist of the Conception, sung by the San Andrés Parish Choir, with the participation of the neighbourhoods of El Palmar, Las Portelas, and Las Lagunetas, and the offering of the Parish Assembly's conclusions
• 21:00 Grand Gala for the Election and Coronation of the Festival Queen 2026, featuring performances by Javier Linares, Jesús Farray, and the Comparsa Carabao Wayana. Hosted by Nieves Luis and Samuel López on the Main Stage

• 17:00 Eucharist of the Presentation, presided over by Juan Alejandro Sierra González and sung by the El Tanque Parish Choir, with the commissioning of catechists and religion teachers, in the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios

• 19:00 Eucharist of the Espousals, presided over by Federico Armas Díaz and sung by the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Choir of El Guincho, with the renewal of matrimonial vows, in the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios

Wednesday 21 October

• 18:00 Theatrical performance of 'Leyenda de Guayota', by users of the Isla Baja Occupational Centre, at the Casa de la Cultura
• 19:00 Eucharist of the Annunciation, presided over by Jorge Andrés Robles Hernández, with the participation of the Masca neighbourhood and blessing of pregnant women, in the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios

Thursday 22 October

• 19:00 Eucharist of the Visitation, presided over by Arturo José Hernández Sánchez and sung by the Children's Parish Choir, with the blessing of children preparing for their First Communion, in the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios

• 17:00 Visit to the Casa de los Mayores (Senior Citizens' Home) by the Folklore Group of the Faculty of Education of the University of La Laguna
• 19:30 Dance of the Libreas of El Lugar de Buenavista del Norte, by the Folklore Group of the Faculty of Education of the ULL, Dance of the Libreas of El Palmar, and the entry of the Our Lady of Remedies Music Band in Calle La Alhóndiga
• 21:00 Eucharist of the Vespers of Sorrows, presided over by Norberto Carlos Hernández Delgado and sung by the Our Lady of Remedies Parish Choir. Followed by a procession of the Virgin, a pyrotechnic display by Hermanos Toste, and a parade of floats and 'cabezudos' (big-headed figures) with the fanfare bands from Puerto de la Cruz and Santa Catalina and the Batucada Do Fogo, in the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios

• 10:30 Entry of the 'Tenerife' 49 Infantry Regiment Band in Calle La Alhóndiga
• 11:00 Reception of authorities, Festival Queen, and court of honour, at the Ayuntamiento de Buenavista del Norte
• 11:30 Eucharist of the Assumption, presided over by Bishop Eloy Santiago Santiago and sung by the San Andrés y Santa Mónica Choir of Los Realejos. Followed by a procession accompanied by the Our Lady of Remedies Music Band and the 'Tenerife' 49 Infantry Regiment Band, in the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios
