Things to do in Granadilla de Abona

Granadilla is a municipality split between two realities. The town centre, up in the midlands, keeps a village cultural life going with its municipal theatre, patron saint fiestas and romerías. El Médano, down on the coast, is another matter entirely: a European capital of windsurfing and kitesurfing, with international competitions, markets and a live music scene closely tied to the beach.

If you're coming for the sport, check the agenda well in advance: the big El Médano events cluster in the windiest months — June to September — and usually need entering ahead of time. The rest of the programming is far more last-minute, which is why we refresh twice a day.
