Puerto de la Cruz has been welcoming visitors for well over a century, and that has left it with a cultural life of its own that's unusual for a town this size. There's year-round programming at the Casino Taoro and the municipal venues, live music in the bars around La Ranilla and the fishing harbour, and a very active street scene that makes good use of the old town squares.
This page collects everything published in the municipality: concerts, theatre, exhibitions, workshops, family activities and the town's own fiesta calendar. It refreshes twice a day, so something announced in the morning is usually here by the afternoon.
Two events stand out. Carnival, with its famous Mascarita Ponte Tacón high-heel race, and the Mueca street arts festival, which each spring turns the seafront promenade and the old town into one big stage. The rest of the year the town keeps a steady rhythm, heavily weighted towards things you can do outdoors by the sea.
