"I Was Born in a Bean Furrow" by Cía. Almealera, at Teatro El Sauzal
About the plan
The Cía. Almealera presents "I Was Born in a Bean Furrow" at Teatro El Sauzal, a show that explores the reasons behind the decline in the number of people dedicated to agriculture and livestock farming. The piece is the result of a 3,635-kilometre journey through various regions of Spain, where female livestock farmers and agricultural workers were interviewed.
These women shared their experiences and challenges in their own environments: homes, orchards, sheds, and farms, while carrying out their daily tasks such as picking fruit, watering plots, or herding livestock. The play is an immersion into their lives, showing why they dedicate themselves to this profession and the difficulties they face in making a living from it. The show is accompanied by objects and food that enrich the narrative of this vital journey.
Don't miss this theatrical event in El Sauzal on 24/10. A cultural proposal for reflection in the North of Tenerife.
