21st Nativity Scene and 9th Christmas Tree Competitions – 2026
About the plan
The Ayuntamiento de El Sauzal is organising the 21st Nativity Scene Competition and the 9th Christmas Tree Competition for 2026. This event invites individuals, groups and associations to showcase their creativity and Christmas spirit by creating nativity scenes and trees that will be judged by a panel.
The registration and participation period runs from Monday 2 November to Friday 4 December 2026. Those interested can get information and register at the Oficina descentralizada de Ravelo, by calling 922 570 000, extension #1200, or by sending an email to oficinaravelo@elsauzal.es.
It is important that registration annexes are signed by hand or with an electronic signature and submitted in PDF or JPG format. All detailed information, including the rules and annexes to complete (Annex I and II for individuals; Annex III and IV for groups or associations), is available via the links provided by the town council.
The competition offers cash prizes for the best creations:
NATIVITY SCENES
- First prize – Individuals: €100
- First prize – Groups: €100
- Second prize – Individuals: €75
- Second prize – Groups: €75
- Third prize – Individuals: €50
- Third prize – Groups: €50
CHRISTMAS TREES
- First prize: €60
- Second prize: €30
- Third prize: €20
The award ceremony will take place on Sunday 20 December 2026, at 19:00, at the Teatro El Sauzal, as part of the Christmas festival. Admission is free until full capacity is reached, allowing attendees to enjoy a festive event and recognise the participants' talent.
