2027 Carnival Fantasy Costume Workshop
About the plan
El Sauzal Town Council continues its commitment to the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Senior Citizens' Carnival, and as has been customary since 2022, will present a candidate for Queen. For the 2027 edition, the representative will be Victoria Gil Rodríguez, who was chosen Senior Romera of the San Pedro Apóstol 2026 Festivities. To ensure she wears the best fantasy costume, the municipality invites all residents to join the costume-making workshop led by designer David Hernández.
These workshops will take place at the Ravelo and Casco Senior Citizens' Clubs in El Sauzal, and represent a wonderful initiative of citizen collaboration. Although the exact start dates, times, and days of celebration are "yet to be determined", all those interested in collaborating are encouraged to visit these clubs to participate in the creation of the costume.
The 2027 Santa Cruz de Tenerife Senior Citizens' Carnival Queen Selection Gala will take place at the Recinto Ferial in the Tenerife capital on Wednesday 10 February 2027.
This fantasy costume-making project for the Senior Citizens' Carnival has a solid track record, with notable participants in previous years, all also designed by David Hernández and sponsored by El Sauzal Town Council:
- 2026: Doña María Candelaria Pérez Rivero, with the fantasy costume «La Dorada».
- 2025: Doña María Ángeles Fajardo Rodríguez, with the fantasy costume ‘No puedo apartar mis ojos de ti’.
- 2024: Doña María Isabel Pérez Goya, with the fantasy costume “El amor llegó a mi como aire fresco».
- 2023: Doña María Josefa Pérez González, with the fantasy costume “Acompáñame una noche más”. She was chosen Fourth Maid of Honour.
- 2022: Doña Candelaria Goya Goya (D.E.P), with the fantasy costume “Bienvenidos al paraíso”.
