Sun Dance Family Sessions
About the plan
The Sun Dance Family Sessions are unique family sessions of electronic music, dance, and wellbeing, launched in 2016 at the Teatro Leal de La Laguna, specifically in its Sala de Cámara. This innovative project is an initiative of the Laboratorio de Artes Vivas y Ciudadanía de Tenerife (TenerifeLAV) and the Neeve-Micromusic collective, dedicated to promoting contemporary electronic music.
These sessions are designed for children and adults, inviting families of all ages to let loose, dance together, and enjoy themselves in a healthy, celebratory environment. Each session is guided by a DJ and a movement professional, who provide appropriate physical warm-ups and movement cues for a playful and harmonious practice of bodies and beats.
Since their creation in 2016, around thirty sessions have taken place in the Sala de Cámara of the Teatro Leal, with the participation of over fifteen hundred people. The Sun Dance Family Sessions have also collaborated with other prominent cultural events such as Tenerife Design Week, the Festival de Arte para la Primera Infancia de Candelaria 'PlanBB', and the MÁC Festival.
