Paul Lewis: Piano Recital

The esteemed pianist Paul Lewis will perform a piano recital in the Sala de Cámara at Auditorio de Tenerife, as part of the Ciclo de Cámara piano concert series. This event is part of the "Mozart + series: primavera 2026 – otoño 2027", in which the British pianist challenges common perceptions of Mozart's piano sonatas by juxtaposing them with works by other great composers.

Paul Lewis explains that the aim of his series is to showcase the multifaceted nature of Mozart's piano repertoire, connecting and contrasting them with works by other composers, from Poulenc's transparency to Chopin's operatic world and Beethoven's dramatic tension – threads he believes are traceable in Mozart's sonatas.

On this occasion, Lewis will present Programme II, which includes works by:

• Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791)
• Sonata No. 17, in B-flat major, K570 (Allegro, Adagio, Allegretto)
• Franz Schubert (1797-1828)
• 3 Klavierstücke, D 946
• Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849)
• Polonaise No. 1, in C-sharp minor, Op. 26 No. 1
• Nocturnes Op. 32 Nos. 1 and 2
• Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791)
• Sonata No. 13, in B-flat major, K333 (Allegro, Andante cantabile, Allegretto grazioso)

Tickets for the recital are priced at €15. For classical music lovers, the Auditorio offers the Pianísimo 2026-2027 season ticket, with a 25% discount on the purchase of all eight concerts in the season.
