Shared Memory
About the plan
The event 'La memoria compartida' (Shared Memory) is a moving activity, part of Library Day, aiming to build bridges between generations through literary creation. Held at Espacio La Granja in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, this gathering offers a unique experience with free admission until full capacity is reached. It is particularly recommended for ages 12 and up and has an approximate duration of 60 minutes.
The central proposal consists of a dialogue between three elderly individuals, who will share relevant stories from their lives, and three young Canarian authors, who will create new literary works based on these testimonies. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness the enriching dialogue of each pair and listen live to the three original literary pieces, narrated or recited by their creators.
This fourth edition of the project, promoted by the Biblioteca Pública del Estado de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, aims to bring new voices in Canarian literature closer to the reality of the elderly in their community, exploring the significant social, cultural, and emotional changes between both generations. The event will be presented by actress Lidia Franco.
The participating authors in 2026 include:
- Kenia Martín Padilla: Doctor in Philological Studies and Secondary Education teacher, author of poetry collections such as Aguja de tacón, La esencia mordida, and Palabras en cadena.
- Laura Cabrera de la Rosa: Canarian poet with a PhD in Art and Humanities, recognised for her poetry collection Poesía enlatada.
- Kalius: Writer and actor, co-founder of ARPA Asociación Cultural, whose literary work focuses on mythological and fantastic backdrops.
Additionally, the event will feature the special participation of Isabel Expósito, a prominent poet and narrator born in El Hierro, with a career recognised by various literary awards and works such as Isla Absoluta, Poemarium, and Huéspedes de la lluvia.
