Valle Tabares Festivities 2026 26/9 - 9h

The Valle Tabares Festivities 2026 take place in the neighbourhood of Valle Tabares, in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, in honour of Nuestra Señora del Rosario. This extensive programme of activities, with free entry, offers ten days of celebration combining religious ceremonies, gatherings showcasing Canarian traditions, children's activities, live music, and popular open-air dances, inviting residents and visitors to participate in community life.

Saturday 26 September

  • 09:00 Senior Citizens' Day, with an excursion around various points of the island and the election of the Senior Queen.

Sunday 27 September

  • 11:00 Protection drill with Presa Canario and Majorero dogs by Aguere Adiestramiento Canino.
  • 12:00 Traditions gathering featuring the XVIII Jacinto Báez Children's Cattle Pulling League, an exhibition of traditional small boats from Los Valles, and a demonstration of juego del palo (Canarian stick fighting) by the Escuela Los Acosta Los Campostos. Afterwards, lunch for the cattle breeders. At the community hall.

Friday 2 October

  • 18:30 Recitation of the Holy Rosary.
  • 19:00 Mass for the deceased of the neighbourhood. Followed by three pyrotechnic volleys by PiroDylan.
  • 21:00 Official festival opening speech by Dailos Daniel González, Councillor for Festivities of La Laguna City Council. Followed by a Variety Festival and open-air dance with the group Gomeray.

Saturday 3 October

  • 10:00-15:00 Foam party, bouncy castles, and children's activities. At Plaza Antonio de la Rosa.
  • 18:30 Ascent of the Traditional Benches and three customary laps around the church in honour of Nuestra Señora del Rosario.
  • 21:00 Procession of Virgen del Rosario along the usual route, accompanied by the parish priest, authorities, and the marching band. Followed by a pyrotechnic display by PiroDylan.
  • 22:00 Open-air dance with Sonora Olympia.

Sunday 4 October

  • 09:30 'Diana floreada' (lively morning parade).
  • 10:00 Traditional games, 'tiraderas' (stone throwing), sack races, and Canarian wrestling. At Plaza de la Cantera.
  • 18:00 Open-air Mass sung by the Grupo Musical Raíces de Anaga. Followed by a procession to Calle El Carpintero, accompanied by authorities, the traditional boats, and the Banda de Música Los Silos. Upon reaching the square, the traditional 'vuelta de los bancos' (return of the benches).

Wednesday 7 October

  • 19:00 Recitation of the Holy Rosary.
  • 19:30 Sung Mass in honour of Virgen del Rosario for her name day.

Friday 9 October

  • 17:00 Children's Day with games, face painting, workshops, and a snack. At Plaza Antonio de la Rosa.
  • 21:00 Canarian Folk Group Festival. Followed by an open-air dance with the Orquesta Gomeray.

Saturday 10 October

  • 11:00 'Envite' card game marathon.
  • 22:00 Closing open-air dance and flag handover with Grupo Relieve.
