La Montañeta Festivities 2026 - Garachico

The picturesque municipality of Garachico celebrates its La Montañeta Festivities 2026 in honour of San Francisco and the Virgen del Rosario. This multi-day event offers a programme combining tradition, music, gastronomy, and activities for all ages, with free entry to all events, which will mainly take place in Plaza de San Francisco and Ermita de San Francisco.

Friday 2 October

• 16:00 Arrival of the RC Sound sound system, which will entertain the festivities.
• 19:00 Tapas y Vinos San Francisco 2026, with participation from wineries Canales del Palmar and Cambium. Plaza de San Francisco.
• 21:00 Performance by the group Pop Rock Risco. Plaza de San Francisco.

Saturday 3 October

• 11:00 Nature activities and bouncy castles for the little ones. Plaza de San Francisco.
• 16:00 Envite and dominoes championships. Plaza de San Francisco.
• 18:00 Recitation of the Holy Rosary. Ermita de San Francisco.
• 19:00 Commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the chapel's construction, with participation from prominent figures such as Ana Oramas, Isidoro Sánchez García, Manuel Nogales, Lorenzo Dorta, José Heriberto González Rodríguez, Magdalena González Gorrín, and Guillermina de León González. The discussion, moderated by Juan Manuel Castañeda, will trace the chapel's history up to the present day. Plaza de San Francisco.
• 22:00 Open-air dance (verbena) with music by the Orquesta Los Ideales. Plaza de San Francisco.

Sunday 4 October

• 11:00 Mass in honour of San Francisco and the Virgen del Rosario, officiated by Marcos Antonio García Luis-Moleiro and sung by the Asociación Cultural Ben-Gara. Afterwards, a procession along the usual route, accompanied by the Agrupación Musical de Garachico. Chapel and streets along the processional route.
• 15:00 Toast for all attendees, with entertainment by the group Medio Litro. Plaza de San Francisco.
• 16:00 Performance by Grupo Luna. Plaza de San Francisco.

Wednesday 7 October

• 17:00 Mass and procession of the images of San Francisco and the Virgen del Rosario around the square, followed by the handover of the flag to the incoming committee. Plaza de San Francisco.
