Canary Islands Isla Calavera Fantasy Film Festival
About the plan
The tenth edition of the Canary Islands Isla Calavera Fantasy Film Festival returns to San Cristóbal de La Laguna from 6 to 15 November 2026, promising a very special edition featuring leading names in cinema. This landmark event for the Canary Islands will feature prominent figures from the national and international film industry.
A highlight will be the tribute to Alejandro Amenábar, who will receive the Isla Calavera Honorary Award during the closing gala on 14 November at the Teatro Leal. In addition, the filmmaker will celebrate the 30th anniversary of his film 'Tesis' with a special screening on 13 November at Multicines Tenerife, followed by an exclusive Q&A with the audience alongside actor Eduardo Noriega.
Local talent will also be recognised, as the actor from La Laguna, Álex García, will be honoured with the S. S. Venture Award for Canarian Talent at the opening gala, which will take place on 6 November also at the Teatro Leal.
The festival will reinforce its commitment to audiovisual production in the islands through the 'Hecho en Canarias' (Made in the Canary Islands) section, which this year will present a carefully curated selection of 6 feature films and 13 short films.
This tenth edition will also feature important international guests such as Sean Young, Christopher Lambert, and Tom Berenger, who will enrich the festival experience with their careers and involvement.
If you're looking for things to do in the Metropolitan Area of Tenerife, the Isla Calavera Festival in San Cristóbal de La Laguna is an unmissable event from 6 to 15 November.
