El Sauzal School Council Sessions 2026
About the plan
El Sauzal Town Council is organising its 2026 School Council Sessions, an initiative enabling primary and secondary students from the municipality to actively participate in local political life. During these sessions, students present their petitions and questions to Mayor Mariano Pérez, in a question-and-answer session format that has been held at the town hall for decades. It's a unique opportunity for young people to exercise their right to participate and learn about municipal democratic processes, with free access.
The school council sessions take place annually with the participation of schools: C.E.I.P. Ravelo, C.E.I.P. Samoga (town centre), I.E.S. Sabino Berthelot (Ravelo), and I.E.S. San Nicolás (town centre). Each school group selects six members for the council, and the mayoral role rotates among the participating schools annually.
