Neva and Cerebro

Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín presents two striking theatrical productions directed by Francisco Medina Donoso: 'Neva' and 'Cerebro'. Both works invite reflection and participation, exploring profound themes through different stage formats.

'Neva' transports us to Saint Petersburg on 9 January 1905, in the context of the tragic Bloody Sunday. The plot follows three actors, including Olga Knipper (widow of the celebrated Anton Chekhov), as they attempt to rehearse amidst a brutal political repression shaking the city streets.

On the other hand, 'Cerebro' is a stage experience that delves into the fragility and complexity of the human brain. This piece is developed in collaboration with stage artist Jorge Becker, who for over a decade has lived with the aftermath of a virus that has severely affected his cognitive, physical, and visual abilities. The work is a performance-game where spectators become an active part, using their mobile phones to decide the order of scenes, songs, and the development of the action.

Attendees of 'Cerebro' are recommended to first attend the staged reading of 'Neva', as Jorge Becker starred in a production of this play more than 15 years ago. This complementary activity aims to offer a deeper insight into the artistic proposal and the premise connecting both of Medina Donoso's creations.
