The cultural space La Salita presents a staged reading of the acclaimed play Neva, by renowned Chilean playwright Guillermo Calderón. This piece, published in 2006, earned him international fame and will be staged at the Auditorio de Tenerife in Santa Cruz. The plot of Neva transports us to 9 January 1905 in St. Petersburg, against the backdrop of the tragic Bloody Sunday. The play follows three actors, notably Olga Knipper, Anton Chekhov's widow, as they strive to rehearse amidst brutal political repression sweeping the city streets. An intense theatrical production that blends history and performing arts.
