Mao Fujita (piano)

The Auditorio de Tenerife's Sala de Cámara hosts a highly anticipated piano recital by acclaimed Japanese pianist Mao Fujita. At just 25 years old, Fujita, praised by The New York Times for his «ethereal filigree» and awarded the First Prize at the Clara Haskil International Piano Competition (2017) and the Silver Medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition (2019), presents a fascinating musical journey titled «From Clarity to Fire».

The programme, with an admission fee of 15 €, offers a journey through more than a century of pianistic imagination, from the transparency and balance of classicism to the expressive intensity of late Romanticism and modernity. The recital explores the evolution of the piano as a reflection of human imagination, moving «from form to colour» and «from contemplation to overflow».

The concert, starting at 19:30, is structured in two parts, featuring works by great masters:

• Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Rondo in D major, K. 494
• Claude Debussy: La plus que lente L121 and Images, Book II (including Cloches à travers les feuilles, Et la lune descend sur le temple qui fue, Poissons d’or)
• Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Sonata No. 31, Op. 110 (Moderato cantabile molto espressivo, Allegro molto, Adagio ma non troppo – Allegro ma non troppo)

After an interval, the programme continues with:

• Maurice Ravel: Menuet antique, M7
• Alexander Glazunov: Idyll, Op. 103
• Alexander Scriabin: Piano Sonata No. 4, Op. 30 (Andante, Prestissimo volando)
• Sergei Rachmaninov: Piano Sonata No. 2, Op. 36 (1931 version), with its movements Allegro agitato, Non allegro- Lento and L’istesso tempo- Allegro molto.

Please note that access to the event is only permitted for those aged five and over, and once the auditorium doors are closed, no entry will be allowed. Mao Fujita is part of the Auditorio's Pianísimo 2026-2027 Season Ticket, which offers a 25% discount on the purchase of all eight concerts in the season.
