Lohengrin
About the plan
The Auditorio de Tenerife presents Lohengrin, the acclaimed romantic opera in three acts by Richard Wagner, a production by Fundación Ópera de Oviedo and Auditorio de Tenerife itself. The work immerses the audience in the story of Elsa, who yearns to believe in a miracle and the promise of a saviour, the mysterious swan knight Lohengrin, while the people around her are swept away by suspicion and rumour. The plot explores the tragedy of manipulated trust and an incomplete truth, resonating with the complexities of today's world. The opera is performed sung in German with surtitles in Spanish and English, in the Auditorio's Symphony Hall.
Music direction is by Paul Daniel, while stage direction is by Guillermo Amaya. Set design is by Pablo Menor, costume design by Raquel Porter, and lighting design by Ion Aníbal López.
The main cast includes:
- Lohengrin: Airam Hernández (tenor)
- Elsa von Brabant: Miren Urbieta-Vega (soprano)
- Ostrud: Magdalena Anna Hofmann (soprano)
- Friedrich von Telramund: Olafur Sigurdarson (baritone)
- Heinrich der Vogler: Vazgen Gazaryan (bass)
- Heraldo del rey: Milan Perišić (baritone)
It will feature the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra and the Ópera de Tenerife-Intermezzo Resident Choir.
