The company laGodot esCénica presents the experimental play 'La rebelión de las parias' at Espacio La Granja in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This piece weaves the poetry of the Golden Age with the voices of silenced women from the Spanish Civil War, recovering historical memory to speak of the present, and fusing the classical with the contemporary, dramatic theatre with performative language and live music. It is a reflection of the female struggle for freedom, a leitmotiv throughout human history. The show has a running time of 60 minutes and is recommended for ages 14 and over.
The play's synopsis delves deeper into this connection, showing how the verses of Golden Age figures such as Ana Abarca de Bolea, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Leonor de la Cueva y Silva, Ana Caro, and María de Zayas, converse in the same space as the prose of other women also silenced by history: those of the Spanish Civil War. Voices from different eras connect to reflect on what unites them despite the passing centuries, through a proposal that fuses dramatic text with performative language, live music, and scenic experimentation.
'La rebelión de las parias' has been awarded the Réplica Award 2025 for Best Lighting and holds nominations for Best Sound Design, Best Set Design, Best Performance, Best Original Script, and Best Theatre Show at the Réplica Awards 2025.

They work in two theatrical lines: social and political theatre for adults, addressing social issues with plays such as 'El discurso de las moscas' (2022) and this production, 'La rebelión de las parias'; and educational theatre for family audiences, with shows like 'Do Re Gi Ra Sol ¡Clown!' Tickets have a general price of €12, with discount options:
- Reduced price (20% discount): For unemployed individuals, young people aged 12 to 25, students, seniors (over 65), large families, and people with a disability of 33% or more.
- Special rate (€4.00): For students of theatre, dance, circus, and music schools. Proof of eligibility is required upon entry to the venue.
Beneficiaries of the Youth Cultural Voucher (Bono Cultural Joven) can purchase tickets using it only at the theatre box office one hour before the event, or by requesting their ticket reservation up to 24 hours prior, via email to lagranja@icdcultural.org.
