Until Divorce Do Us Part

The play 'Hasta que el divorcio nos separe' comes to L'Incanto in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, humorously and profoundly exploring the challenges couples face when infidelities come to light and the phrase "I want a divorce" takes centre stage.

The plot centres on Doctor Sanz, who treats Fer (played by Leonardo Abreu) and Paula (played by Elizabeth Morales), a couple who have lived together for over ten years and are seeking separation. Both suspect each other of infidelity and, during therapy sessions, will do everything possible to achieve their true goal: to keep the shared assets.

Leonardo Abreu, in addition to being an actor, is the author of the script. His motivation for writing this comedy arose from the search for a topic that combines comedic play with audience awareness. He chose the world of couples and infidelity, a subject with which, according to him, "everyone who attends the theatre could identify with some scene or argument put forward by the actors." Abreu points out that "infidelity is commonplace. Who hasn't been unfaithful at least once in their life? You can be unfaithful in many ways, even with a thought, and I believe that society currently has no qualms about confessing extramarital affairs."
