Till Divorce Do Us Part
About the plan
'Till Divorce Do Us Part' is a theatrical comedy showing at L'Incanto, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which delves into the complexities and challenges of relationships when faced with infidelity and separation.
The play, set during the sessions of Dr. Sanz, explores how couples confront confessions of infidelity and the dreaded phrase 'I want a divorce'. The plot follows Fer (played by Leonardo Abreu) and Paula (played by Elizabeth Morales), a couple who have been living together for over ten years. Convinced of each other's infidelities, both seek separation and will do everything possible during therapy sessions to achieve their main goal: to keep the marital assets.
Leonardo Abreu himself is the author of the script. His motivation was to find a topic that allowed for both comic play and audience awareness. Abreu explains that he chose the world of couples so that every spectator could identify with the scenes or arguments presented, noting that "infidelity is commonplace" and that modern society "has no qualms about confessing extramarital affairs," even those that are "only in thought."
