About the plan

Hamlet, the acclaimed opera by Ambroise Thomas, comes to the Auditorio de Tenerife, specifically the Sala Sinfónica, with an impressive French production. This Shakespearean tragedy unfolds in five acts, immersing the audience in a court where corruption hides behind protocol and appearances. Hamlet grapples with the obligation to seek revenge and the horror of carrying it out, while Ophélie is lost in her inability to be heard, reflecting a world where over-information doesn't prevent a lack of trust and genuine listening. The performance is sung in French with surtitles in Spanish and English.

The production features the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, the Coro Titular Ópera de Tenerife-Intermezzo, and the Centro Internacional de Danza Tenerife. Musical direction is by Seok-Won Hong, with Nicola Berloffa as stage director. Set design is by Aurelio Colombo (revival by Gabriele Moreschi), lighting by Valerio Tiberi, and video design by Dino Sabanovic. The French coach is Laïla Barnat. This production is by Opéra de Saint-Etienne.
