San Joaquín and Virgen de la Paz Festivities, Tamaimo 2026

The neighbourhood of Tamaimo, in Santiago del Teide, celebrates its traditional San Joaquín and Virgen de la Paz Festivities 2026 with an extensive programme of religious, cultural, sporting, and leisure events. Most of the celebrations are free to attend and will run from 24 to 27 September.

Thursday 24 September

• 07:00 Bell ringing and rocket launch, followed by a street parade led by Batucada Tamatimba along the usual route.
• 10:00 Arrival of Radio Curbelo sound and lighting team, who will liven up the festivities.
• 17:00 Semi-final of the 9th Cheo Bonifacia Envite Tournament and Semi-final of the 5th David el Bicho Dominoes Tournament in Plaza de Santa Ana.
• 20:00 Grand Folklore Festival featuring groups Tayme, Raíces de Santiago del Teide, Araza, and Grupo La Quincena. Hosted by: Alicia León.
• Followed by a dance with Manuel Dorta.

Friday 25 September

• 17:00 Final of the 9th Cheo Bonifacia Envite Tournament and Final of the 5th David el Bicho Dominoes Tournament in Plaza de Santa Ana.
• 20:00 2nd Edition of the "Tamaimo Canta" Festival. Directed by Montse García. Presented by Jaime Hernández.
• 22:00 Youth Night with DJ Jota, DJ Cris Hernández, DJ Carlos Dreams, and Orquesta Son Sin Límite.

Saturday 26 September

• 10:00 Inflatable castles and foam party in Plaza de Abelardo González.
• 11:30 Grand Verbenaty by Radio Rumberos with Fran Correa. The Santa Ana 2027 festivities committee will offer attendees a plate of paella with beer or a soft drink for €5 in Plaza de Santa Ana.
• 16:00 34th Edition of the Santa Ana - Tamaimo 2026 Popular Cross Country Race.
• 21:00 Holy Mass officiated by parish priest D. Yoel Antonio Somoza Odreman and sung by the Tamaimo Parish Choir. Followed by a procession of the revered images of San Joaquín, Virgen de la Paz, and Santa Ana along the usual route, accompanied by the Santiago del Teide Municipal Band, authorities, and parishioners. A fireworks display by Pirotecnia Jordi Tenerife, S.L. will take place along the route.
• 22:30 Grand Verbenazo Tamaimo with Orquesta Saoco, Gran Orquesta Armonía Show, and Orquesta Guaracha de Garachico, and DJ Cris G during the orchestra intervals.

Sunday 27 September

• 12:00 Holy Mass officiated by parish priest D. Yoel Antonio Somoza Odreman and sung by the Samay Góspel group. Followed by a procession of the revered images along the usual route, accompanied by the Santiago del Teide Municipal Band, authorities, and parishioners. At the traditional stop, an Ave Maria will be sung by Sandra Santana in honour of Virgen de la Paz.
• 19:00 Grand Closing Festival presented by Alicia León and Jaime Hernández, featuring Nataly La Voz de México, Trío Zapatista, and Grupo Son 21.
• 22:00 Closing Dance with Latin Sound.
