El Tanque Festivities 2026 in Honour of the Holy Family

The municipality of El Tanque is getting ready to celebrate its Festivities in Honour of the Holy Family 2026, a week of tradition, music, and activities for all ages, running from 17 to 21 September. All activities offer free entry, inviting locals and visitors alike to enjoy a full programme of festivities including religious ceremonies, open-air dances (verbenas), galas, and events for children and adults. These festivities keep alive the essence and community spirit of this corner of northern Tenerife.

Thursday 17 September

• 06:00 Bell ringing and rocket launch.
• 10:00 Sound system setup.
• 17:00 Proclamation parade with Disney Characters, Batucada Batutanque, and Comparsa (Carnival Troupe).
• 17:00 Envite and dominoes championship.
• 18:30 Adults' afternoon with Cumbre de Erjos and their dance troupe, Grupo Contraste, and a special performance by Javier Linares.

Friday 18 September

• 10:00 Ambient music.
• 16:00 Dessert and 'tortilla' (Spanish omelette) competition.
• 20:00 4th edition of the Great Reinona 2026 Gala, a show presented by Iristérika de los nervios.
• Afterwards, a youth night with: DJ Victor.

Saturday 19 September — Eve of the Solemnity of the Holy Family

• 10:00 Ambient music.
• Children's Day with Bouncy castles, Fun games, Mechanical bull, and a foam party.
• 17:00 Grand children's festival with Escala Hifi and a performance by the children of El Tanque + Clown Floow's show.
• 20:30 Recitation of the Holy Rosary.
• 21:00 Celebration of the Eucharist, presided over by Don Silvestre Gorrín Rivero and sung by the folk group Sámara.
• Following this, a procession along the traditional route with the A.C.A.M. Santísimo Cristo del Calvario de El Tanque. Fireworks by Piromart. Upon arrival, the Ave Maria sung by Irinea Niebla.
• 23:00 Grand dance with Dorada Band and Malibú Band. During the night, chicken broth will be served to "settle the mothers" (a traditional restorative).

Sunday 20 September — Solemnity of the Holy Family

• 10:00 Ambient music.
• 1st exhibition of Racing and Classic Cars.
• 12:30 Recitation of the Holy Rosary.
• 13:15 Celebration of the Eucharist, presided over by Don Silvestre Gorrín Rivero and sung by the El Tanque Parish Choir. Following this, a procession along the traditional route, with the bugle, drum, and bagpipe band of San Antonio del Puerto de la Cruz and faithful attendees.
• 17:00 Grand variety festival, with performances by Los Huracanes del Norte, Juanito Panchín, and a Brazilian Show. Presented by Mavi Arteaga with a star performance by Besay Pérez.
• 21:00 Grand open-air dance (verbena) by the group Latin Sound.

Monday 21 September

• 10:00 Ambient music.
• 15:00 Football match: The classic Singles vs. Married (Men & Women). Refereed by: Elvis El Chico de Magnolia.
• Afterwards, trophy presentation and acknowledgements, followed by a 'Gran Pelana' (community feast) by Balcón de Higa.
• To liven up the 'pelana', guaranteed laughs from the theatre group Los Capirangos and the closing of the festivities by Teide Swing.
