Familiengo: The Singing of Gypsy Families 21/12 - 20h

Festival Romí 2.0 presents the show 'Familiengo: The Singing of Gypsy Families' at the Teatro Leal in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. This performance champions the fundamental role of Gypsy families in the preservation and transmission of flamenco, an art form deeply linked to oral tradition and collective memory.

The event brings together two great masters of cante jondo:

  • Duquende, whose extraordinary vocal talent was recognised by none other than Camarón de la Isla himself when he was barely eight years old. His extensive international career includes over two decades of collaboration with the legendary Paco de Lucía.
  • Guadiana, heir to a renowned lineage of flamenco artists, who has developed a personal style combining respect for traditional cantes with a remarkable expressive ability.

The lineup is completed by the talented guitarist Juan Jiménez, associated with the prestigious Cañorroto school in Madrid, and percussionist Antón Suárez, son of Guadiana. Together, they will highlight the family and collective nature of flamenco, its value as cultural heritage, and its ability to connect generations through music and shared emotion.

Don't miss this flamenco music show in San Cristóbal de La Laguna on 21/12, an essential cultural event in the Metropolitan Area of Tenerife.
