Liliana's Invincible Summer
About the plan
The moving play 'Liliana's Invincible Summer' is being staged at Espacio Cultural CajaCanarias Santa Cruz. This theatrical production is based on the research and the book of the same name by writer Cristina Rivera Garza.
The piece tells the story of Liliana Rivera Garza, who was murdered by her ex-partner in Ciudad de México on 16 July 1990. After decades of silence, her sister, Cristina Rivera Garza, began a process of reconstructing her memory through the archives, diaries, and personal documents Liliana left behind. The result is a work published in 2021 that goes beyond a family narrative, offering a profound reflection on gender-based violence, justice, and the urgent need to restore a voice to those who have been silenced.
This event offers an opportunity to engage with a powerful and essential narrative on a topic of great social relevance.
If you're looking for things to do in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, don't miss this theatrical event on 23/10, an occasion for reflection in the Área Metropolitana.
