The Year 1917
About the plan
The Auditorio de Tenerife hosts the concert "The Year 1917" by the Sinfónica de Tenerife in its Sala Sinfónica, a programme bringing together two Russian works of great musical and symbolic intensity. This concert is conducted by honorary director Víctor Pablo Pérez and features the talented pianist Simon Trpčeski as soloist.
The programme includes two fundamental compositions:
- Serguéi Rajmáninov: Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18. A work of soaring melody, direct emotion and expansive virtuosity, composed after a period of creative block that transformed fragility into affirmation. Simon Trpčeski will be performing this acclaimed score.
- Dmitri Shostakóvich: Symphony No. 12 in D minor, «The Year 1917», Op. 112. Dedicated to Lenin and linked to the official memory of the Russian Revolution, this symphony explores the complex relationship between individual, power, and collective narrative beneath its historical surface.
Before the concert, at 18:30, there will be a pre-talk with free admission until full capacity is reached in the Sala Avenida (located in the Auditorio's hall), led by José Lorenzo Chinea from the Asociación Tinerfeña de Amigos de la Música (ATADEM).
Please note that access to the hall will not be permitted once the doors are closed for the start of the event, and it is only allowed for those aged five and over.
If you're looking for cultural plans in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, don't miss this concert by the Sinfónica de Tenerife on 30/10 in the Área Metropolitana.
