Grammy Award-winning singer Catherine Russell comes to Teatro Leal de La Laguna for a seated concert. Born into musical royalty, she is the daughter of Luis Russell, legendary pianist, composer, and musical director for Louis Armstrong, and Carline Ray, a pioneering singer, guitarist, and bassist for groups such as International Sweethearts of Rhythm, Mary Lou Williams, and Sy Oliver.

Throughout her career, Catherine Russell has toured and recorded with music legends such as David Bowie, Cyndi Lauper, Paul Simon, Steely Dan, Jackson Browne, Michael Feinstein, The Holmes Brothers, Wynton Marsalis, and Rosanne Cash, contributing to over 200 albums. Her solo works have also received significant acclaim: her albums have topped the charts, notably Strictly Romancin’, which was awarded the Prix du Jazz Vocal 2012 by the French Jazz Academy, and Bring It Back in 2014. She was also a key artist on the soundtrack for the series Boardwalk Empire, which earned her a Grammy Award.
