Immerse yourself in the richness of classical music with the performance of Carmina Burana at the iconic Teatro Leal de La Laguna. This majestic work is based on a medieval codex, a manuscript of great historical value discovered in Benediktbeuern Abbey in southern Germany. The region, known as 'Bura' in Latin, is what gave these ancient poems the name 'Burana'.
The original manuscript, dating from the 12th and 13th centuries, contains an impressive total of 318 texts. Most of these rhymes are written in Latin, but fragments can also be found in Middle High German (the ancestor of modern German) and French. A cultural experience that will transport you to another era, combining history, poetry, and music.
