Alfonso Sebastián

The Auditorio de Tenerife hosts the organ concert 'Handeliana II', a musical programme celebrating the work of George Frideric Handel with renowned organist and conductor Alfonso Sebastián and the Orquesta Barroca de Tenerife. This event is part of the Auditorio's organ concert season, offering an immersion into the composer's creative universe.

The programme delves into Handel through a carefully curated selection of concertante and orchestral works. Directed by and featuring Alfonso Sebastián as soloist, the concert opens with the overture from the opera Partenope (HWV 27). The core of the programme consists of three organ concertos from Op. 4 and Op. 7 (HWV 290, 291, and 310), showcasing Handel's melodic inventiveness and instrumental virtuosity.

The programme is completed by the Oboe Concerto in G minor (HWV 287), which introduces a timbral contrast, and the Trio Sonata in G major, Op. 5 No. 4 (HWV 399), an example of the richness of his chamber music. Performed with historical instruments and a contemporary-style organ, the concert offers an approach to baroque sound from a modern perspective. The ensemble is completed by the Orquesta Barroca de Tenerife, with Adrián Linaares as concertmaster.

Tickets are priced from 6 €, with a general admission cost of 15 €. Access is only permitted for those aged five and over. Once the hall doors are closed for the start of the event, entry will not be permitted. For any questions regarding the purchase process, please email taquilla@auditoriodetenerife.com or call 922 568 625 (Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 14:00, except holidays).
