About the plan
The Tamaska Theatre company presents the premiere of 'Yerma', the acclaimed work by Federico García Lorca, at Teatro El Sauzal. This production offers a contemporary reinterpretation of this classic, maintaining respect for the original text while exploring its relevance through a multidisciplinary, accessible, and innovative stage language. This staging follows Tamaska's successful collaboration with Theater in Kempten on 'Bodas de sangre'.
The play addresses universal themes that resonate strongly in today's society, such as the desire for motherhood, social oppression, gender roles, individual freedom, and the conflict between tradition and identity. Beyond the performance itself, the project aims to create an experience of critical reflection and dialogue with the audience, incorporating a social and educational dimension to bring theatre and cultural heritage closer to diverse audiences, including young people and groups at risk of exclusion, through parallel activities such as talks, workshops, and meetings in educational centres. This reaffirms Lorca's poetic and symbolic richness and the continued relevance of his human and social conflicts.
The cast comprises Carmen Hernández, Josefa Suárez, Francisco Vera, Sheila Rguez López, Fernando Delgado, and Karen Perea Ferrer, under the direction of Francisco Vera.
The show has an approximate running time of 75 minutes and is recommended for ages 12 and up.

- Standard Rate: 12 €
- Special Rate: 9 € (applicable to students, under 25s, over 65s, and residents of El Sauzal. Proof required at the box office).
Tickets can be purchased at the Theatre offices (calle Constitución, nº 3, annexed to the Town Hall) from Tuesday to Friday from 08:00 to 15:00, at the box office 90 minutes before the start of the show, or via the online ticketing platform Ticketty. Spectators are advised that once the performance has started, access to the hall will not be permitted.
