The eagerly anticipated Romería de San Miguel is the centrepiece of the San Miguel de Abona patron saint festivities, one of the most deeply rooted and festive events in the south of Tenerife. It's one of the liveliest folklore events in the municipality and the entire region, with free admission for all attendees.
Every 19 September, the streets of San Miguel de Abona are adorned with tradition for the celebration of this romería, featuring:
- A parade of decorated carts
- Teams of oxen
- Locals dressed in traditional Canarian costumes
