Romería de La Esperanza
About the plan
The Romería de La Esperanza is one of the most important events in El Rosario's festive calendar, celebrated on the first Sunday in August in honour of Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza. Each year, this romería brings together numerous romeros dressed in traditional Canarian costume, who accompany the image of the Virgin in a lively festive procession. The tradition is intensely experienced with the passing of decorated carts, livestock, and the infectious atmosphere of traditional dances and songs that fill the streets.
The main route of the romería starts from the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza and proceeds to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de El Rosario. Recognised as one of the most popular romerías in the northern part of the island, its charm is enhanced by its location in the medianías.
Admission is free, inviting everyone to take part in this profound expression of Canarian culture and devotion.
Immerse yourself in tradition: don't miss this traditional festival in El Rosario on 2 August, an authentic experience of Canarian culture in Tenerife.
