The San Agustín Romería returns to Arafo for its traditional annual celebration on 29 August. This municipality, known as Tenerife's 'town of music' due to its deep-rooted culture of bands and parranda groups, pays tribute to its patron saint with one of the island's most meticulously organised processions in terms of folkloric quality.
Throughout the day, decorated carts, teams of oxen, and numerous traditional music groups will parade through the streets of Arafo, creating a festive atmosphere that perfectly blends devotion with rich Canarian popular culture. It's a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the island's roots and traditions, enjoy live music, and experience the collective joy.
Participation in this romería is completely free.
