Women and Sport 2026 Workshop: Self-Defence for Physical Activity and Sport 12/9 - 9h

The Women and Sport 2026 Workshop offers an intensive session on Self-Defence for Physical Activity and Sport, focused on training and empowering women. This event, designed for women aged over 14, will take place at the IES Cruz Santa Sports Hall in the municipality of Los Realejos.

Registration is free and opens on Monday 31 August 2026. The training is adapted to the physical and psychological characteristics of the participants, aiming to teach how to avoid an assault and, if it occurs, how to resolve it in the most favourable way possible. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire practical tools and strengthen personal safety.

Key topics to be covered during the workshop include:

  • Ways and attitudes to position oneself against an aggressor.
  • Identification of vulnerable body areas and techniques to disorient an aggressor.
  • Methods for escaping holds.
  • Defence strategies against armed aggression.
  • Crucial psychological aspects to consider in dangerous situations.
  • Preventive measures for commutes and during outdoor sports.
  • Protocols for action after experiencing an assault.

This workshop will be led by renowned specialists:

  • YURAIMA DÍAZ GONZÁLEZ: International Instructor and Trainer for Shooting Courses, National Shooting Course Technician, Police Shooting and Self-Defence Instructor, and Personal Trainer.
  • EDUARDO COBOS ABREU: Expert in Self-Protection Analysis, Defensive Tactics, and Control and Arrest Procedures. He is also an Expert in the Analysis of Actions involving the Legitimate Use of Force and in Public Safety Procedures. He holds a 3rd Dan Black Belt in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, a 1st Dan Black Belt in Police Self-Defence Ju-Jitsu, and is a Wing Tsun Instructor.
