First Golden Age Festival

The First Golden Age Festival in La Laguna invites you on a journey back in time to the heart of classic Spanish theatre. Organised by Timaginas Teatro in collaboration with local and international artists and companies, this event promises a comprehensive exploration of the Golden Age's richness in a privileged setting: the Ex-Convento de Santo Domingo, a UNESCO World Heritage site in San Cristóbal de La Laguna.

Over two days, the festival offers a varied programme for all audiences, showcasing the literary and theatrical legacy of our history. The experience begins with doors opening, a reception, and a themed photocall at 19:00 on the first day, where you can transform into a character from that era. In addition, the programme includes:

• Theatre performances bringing great Golden Age works back to life.
• Short farces (entremeses) by master authors such as Cervantes and Lope de Vega.
• Poetry recitals to delight in the lyrical beauty of the era.
• Live music inspired by the Golden Age.
• The reading of the festival's official manifesto.
• A special performance by Imprudentes Teatro at 19:35.
