Tropicalia Puerto Rico
About the plan
Tropicalia Puerto Rico holds its final edition of the year at Parque José Segura Clavell in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. Get ready for a vibrant day of music, culture, and a strong commitment to the environment, running from 14:00 to 00:00.
This festival stands out for its strong commitment to sustainability and responsible consumption. Tropicalia is a pioneer in the Canary Islands with initiatives such as:
- Drinking water points throughout the venue to avoid queues and reduce plastic consumption, promoting the use of returnable 20L bottles.
- Environmental Patrols, identifiable by their yellow t-shirts, who are responsible for guiding selective waste separation.
- Promotion of sustainable mobility, inviting attendees to carpool or use public transport. The event has a huge car park and information is provided on how to get there via the Tenerife Tram (Ingenieros stop), with alternatives for returning once tram service has ended.
- Constant measurement of electricity consumption to improve the event's environmental performance.
Furthermore, Tropicalia highlights local talent and products, collaborating with service and product providers from the island and giving visibility to regional artists. The use of ecological and reusable materials is prioritised, with the support of companies such as Incabe and Ebro Orvecame for their sustainable vehicle fleet, and the use of reusable cups and biodegradable products.
The visual design for this edition was created by illustrator Iván Retamas. The festival is supported by ICDCultural, the Government of the Canary Islands, the City Council of La Laguna and Tourism of the Canary Islands.
Don't miss this festival in San Cristóbal de La Laguna on 29/08. An unmissable event to enjoy music and sustainability in the Tenerife Metropolitan Area.
