Famtàstic Presents the 'Eclipse' Experience in El Sauzal
About the plan
Famtàstic presents Eclipse (Special Space Vol. 2), an immersive experience combining cinema, gastronomy, live arts, DJ music, and scientific experimentation. This unique event is organised around the partial solar eclipse that can be observed from El Sauzal (Tenerife) on 12 August 2026.
Throughout the afternoon and evening, starting at 18:30 at the Casa del Vino, attendees will have the opportunity to discover and enjoy the eclipse through a carefully designed program that merges audiovisual content and local flavours with science and artistic expressions.
The detailed program, subject to possible modifications, includes:
- Welcome glass of wine from Sociedad Cooperativa Cumbres de Abona (DO Abona and DOP Islas Canarias).
- DJ set 'Towards Darkness' by Claudia Rutten.
- Guided observation of the partial solar eclipse, accompanied by a tasting menu created by chef Aridani Alonso (chef at Casa Romántica restaurant, awarded one Sol Repsol and recommended by the Michelin Guide). In Tenerife, the peak of the eclipse, with 69% of the sun's surface hidden, will occur at approximately 19:53.
- Selection of national and international short films under the title 'The Year of the Eclipse', in collaboration with SeSIFF (Seoul) and El Festivalito (La Palma).
- Three gastronomic tastings under the theme 'Solar Cuisine, Lunar Cuisine', also by chef Aridani Alonso.
- Concert 'Space Art, Cosmic Energy' by MAMBEC, a group comprising Diego Barber on guitar and Akior García on percussion and atmospheres.
- The evening concludes with the musical journey 'Towards Darkness (Day 2)', again with Claudia Rutten.
To ensure safe eclipse observation, it is essential to use approved eclipse glasses. Famtàstic makes these glasses available to attendees: they can be purchased for €2.50 (plus ticketing fees) if bought with an event ticket, or for €3.00 (plus ticketing fees) without a ticket. Collection will be at the Casa del Vino on 12 August from 18:30. Remember that you should never look directly at the Sun without adequate protection, as conventional sunglasses are not sufficient and can cause irreversible eye damage. It is recommended to consult the safe observation guides from Fundación Starlight-AirBNB and NASA.
