Cuerpos de Orgullo – Fifth Festival Against Aesthetic Violence and Fatphobia 2026

The 5th Edition of the Cuerpos de Orgullo Festival comes to El Sauzal, presenting itself as the first music, market, and training festival in the Canary Islands dedicated to raising awareness of body diversity and dissident bodies, with the firm objective of combating fatphobia and aesthetic violence. This important event is jointly organised by El Sauzal Town Council and Mogares Dôyan, with the collaboration of Cabildo de Tenerife and CIT del Nordeste.

The programme spans ten days, from Friday 18 to Sunday 27 September 2026. Throughout this period, the exhibition hall will open its doors to the public for the art exhibition “Five Years of Proud Bodies”. One of the highlights will be Friday 25 September at 20:00, when the Teatro de El Sauzal hosts the 2nd Edition of the Itziar Castro Awards, a recognition of body activism in 2026, with entry by invitation. The main event, the 5th International Cuerpos de Orgullo Festival 2026, will be held on Saturday 26 September in Plaza del Príncipe, offering a day of uninterrupted activities from 11:00 to 23:30. General admission to the festival and exhibition is free. It is important to note that the full programme may be subject to changes.
